Throughout the course of this project we have surveyed the animal reserves and completed 5 quadrats, which were 10 by 10 metres. We were assessing all the different species of plants we could finds within the quadrats. Through these surveys we have discovered that the diversity of plants is at a minimum. We found that there is a lot of the same species of plants that cover the majority of the reserves area. This especially in the western wing of the reserve in the emu habitat and wetlands. The action plan we propose the school undertakes involves planting various new species of plants to create a more diverse habitat for animals to live in. Having a more diverse variety of plants will allow for more different species of animal life to use these plants
as food and housing facilities. Due to the high salinty levels of the water supply in the reserve we also suggest to plant some Swamp Gums to drop the water table in order to lower the saline levels of the dam/creeks in the reserve. this will also influence the variety of animal species.
